Short Bio
Paolo Romano has a Master degree (2002) summa cum laude in Computer Engineering by the Rome University Tor Vergata. He obtained the PhD in Computer and Systems Engineering (2006) by the Rome University La Sapienza. Since 2002 to 2008 he was a a lecturer at the Rome University La Sapienza, and since 2008 he is a senior researcher at INESC-ID. In 2012 he joined the Computer Engineering department of the Instituto Superior Tecnico of Lisbon, where he holds an associate professor position since 2015. His research interests include parallel and distributed computing, dependability, autonomic systems, performability modelling and evaluation, cloud and high performance computing. In these areas, he has published more than a hundred papers and serves regularly as Program Committee member and reviewer for prestigious international conferences and journals (e.g. IEEE TKDE, IEEE TPDS, ACM TOPLAS, CCGRID, BIGDATA).
